We were blessed with an unexpected 2 weeks with Jacob home.
These extra two weeks have been filled with a whole lot of nothing. Nothing because we are ready. We have been ready. So we have done a whole lot of nothing.
No showers. I 'think' the kids had showers 4 days ago. Maybe.
No routine bedtimes. You go to bed at 8. You go to bed at 9:30. You go to bed whenever.
No limits on movie with dinner. Snuggling up on the couch with a movie is an all time favorite for these Larkins. So we have watched movies on school nights, on weekends, during the afternoons. We have also watched an entire season of Worst Cooks in America, another favorite show of the Larkins.
Very little cooking at home. Jacob has made it very clear all the foods he will miss while gone. While the chow hall has done him well in the past, there are certain foods he is sure he will miss. So why not have that almost every night. And why waste time in the kitchen when we can all go out or have it delivered so we can just spend all the time together.
Nothing off our Before-J-Leaves-List. Because it is all done.
We are ready. We did exactly what the Army is known for. We hurried, and stressed, and rushed, just to now wait.
We have taken these past two weeks to make sure we have nothing to regret. I can not stress enough how important these couple of weeks have been.
And there is nothing I would change.
